Professor O. Murtzayev, Director of the Samarkand branch of Tashkent State University of Economics, sincerely congratulates all respected women on the occasion of March 8 – International Women’s Day on behalf of the branch team.

According to Order No. 71 of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 23, 2026, a series of subject Olympiads on financial literacy will be held among university students. The Samarkand branch of Tashkent State University of Economics will organize the first (qualifying) stage of the Olympiad. The competition will cover the following subjects: General Economic Theory, Finance, Taxation, Banking, Economic Statistics and Data Analysis. Applications are accepted until March 23.

Prof. Praveen Malla of the Department of Digital Economy and Information Technologies has been appointed to the ORCID Global Researcher Advisory Council for the 2026–2028 term. This achievement strengthens the international recognition of SBTSUE and Uzbekistan within the global research community.

On February 26–27, 2026, a seminar was organized within the framework of the “University Governance Program” project by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the British Council in Uzbekistan.

The Samarkand branch of Tashkent State University of Economics is actively implementing presidential initiatives to expand youth entrepreneurship, startup projects, digital skills, and dual education. Ensuring practical experience for every student and full employment of graduates remains a key priority.

On February 24, 2026, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held an open dialogue with young people at the Kuksaroy residence, outlining key priorities including support for startups, promotion of innovation, development of foreign language skills, and advancement of digital professions.

Romanian Government Scholarship Program — 2026

A spiritual and educational event under the motto “Awareness — A Demand of the Time” was organized at the branch. The event focused on preventing youth radicalization in higher education institutions and protecting students from the risks of joining virtual religious communities.

The annual “Most Active Student of the Year” contest has concluded at the branch. Students who demonstrated outstanding achievements in academic, scientific, social, and spiritual-educational activities, as well as strong leadership and initiative, were selected and honored.

Scientific supervisors and mentors who made a significant contribution to the students’ success were also specially recognized. The event highlighted the importance of the mentor–student tradition, research engagement, and active participation in university life

On February 19, 2026, a meeting with fourth-year students was held at the Samarkand branch of the Tashkent State University of Economics within the framework of the “Step into the Future” project. The event was attended by faculty leadership and representatives of Milliy bank. Students received detailed information about the program’s objectives, opportunities, and the terms and conditions of preferential student loans. The session concluded with an open discussion and Q&A.
