We are pleased to announce that Prof. Praveen Malla working in the Department of Digital Economy and Information Technologies has been appointed to ORCID's Global Researcher Advisory Council and will serve his first term as Advisor for the period 2026–2028.

It is a matter of huge pride for us as with his appointment to ORCID's Researcher Advisory Council, both SBTSUE and Uzbekistan get a formal representation and recognition at an international level in a “research and innovation focused” global ecosystem.

Prof. Malla served as the Project Director of ORCID Implementation Project in Uzbekistan during the period 2024–2025. Under Prof. Malla's leadership the ORCID outreach initiative achieved remarkable milestones, successfully engaging 168 universities across the length and breadth of Uzbekistan and onboarding over 9000 researchers on to the ORCID platform.

His relentless efforts have laid a strong foundation for a sustainable ORCID community in Uzbekistan, fostering widespread awareness and adoption of persistent digital identifiers (PIDs) among scholars and institutions.

In recognition of his exceptionally strong performance in the project, Prof. Malla has been honored with the aforementioned appointment.
