The event was attended by Kim Ansell, Senior Advisor on Governance and Transformation at Advance HE, and Aaron Porter, Deputy Director for Governance.
Over two days, nearly 40 senior representatives from 18 higher education institutions — including rectors, vice-rectors, governing board members, and sector experts — took part in the seminar. The event marked an important step toward strengthening governance systems in higher education institutions based on modern principles, fostering a culture of strategic leadership, and advancing institutional reforms.
Key topics included the next phase of developing the Code of Governing Boards, the expansion of the GCAN national network, the development and pilot implementation of training programs for board members, and the introduction of the governing board secretary institution.
