National costumes of Uzbek women - information about the historical clothing of the Uzbek people is provided by ancient large murals found during archaeological excavations, images on various objects, and medieval book miniatures. Medieval miniatures are unique examples of the formation of a specific style, that is, a type, of Uzbek clothing and its preservation until later times. Changes in the clothing of the people were most noticeable at the beginning of the 20th century, and the transformation in it was most clearly visible in cities. Due to the import of yarn and other fabrics from Russia to Central Asia in the first half of the 19th century, at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, it was customary among the local population to wear clothes made mainly from factory-made yarn: chit, boz, and raw surp. The wealthy began to buy kimkhob, silk, atlas, dukhob, and colorful fabrics. Nevertheless, there was a great demand for various types of local textiles made by weavers: mato, boz, nimshoyi (adras, bekasam, padshoi, kimkhob, khanatlas, katakshoyi, etc.).
