“Muqaddima” Discussion — A Space Where Knowledge and Thought Converge
At the Samarkand Branch of TDIU, the Faculty of Accounting and Finance successfully organized an expanded academic discussion dedicated to Ibn Khaldun’s monumental work, “Muqaddima.” The event aimed to deepen students’ understanding of classical scholarship while strengthening analytical thinking and academic dialogue.
During the session, participants explored the book’s core concepts — societal evolution, state governance, economic dynamics, the philosophy of history, and the factors shaping the rise and fall of civilizations. Students critically examined the relevance of Ibn Khaldun’s ideas in the context of modern socio-economic systems, drawing parallels between historical insights and current global trends.
The discussion featured interactive debates, structured group analyses, comparative reflections, and question-and-answer segments. It fostered a vibrant intellectual environment that encouraged students to express their perspectives and engage in scholarly reasoning.
At the conclusion of the program, the most active students were awarded commemorative gifts, celebrating their dedication, curiosity, and academic enthusiasm. The event became a meaningful space where tradition met modern thought, inspiring students toward further research and knowledge exploration.
