An international seminar-training on “Economics of Disasters” was held.
On April 30, 2026, a seminar-training on the topic “Economics of Disasters” was organized at the Samarkand branch of the Tashkent State University of Economics, conducted by renowned Brazilian economist Professor Eduardo Amaral Haddad.
The seminar was attended by doctoral students, independent researchers, academic staff, master’s students, professors, and all students interested in the topic.
During the seminar, participants gained in-depth knowledge about the economic impacts of natural disasters (such as earthquakes, floods, droughts, etc.) as well as human-induced emergencies, their short- and long-term consequences, and mechanisms for ensuring economic resilience and recovery.
The seminar-training was conducted in a scientific and practical format, featuring real-world case studies, results of modern research, and international experience. Q&A sessions and discussions were also organized for participants.
Commemorative gifts were presented to the guests. The parties agreed to further develop scientific cooperation, jointly publish academic articles, and implement collaborative projects in the future.
